D'Hara

D'Hara is the east land of the New World. The capital is People's Palace which is situated on Azrith Planes, a big deserted area (supposedly, it was burned). D'Hara is going to be the main country of D'Harian Empire.

The Midlands

The Midlands were between the nations of Westland and D'Hara in the New World. They were sealed away from Westland and D'Hara by the boundaries about forty years before the outbreak of the Darken Rahl Movement. There were many places in the Midlands where there were rumors of terrible beasts. However, most of these stories were just that, stories. But not all. The Midlands could be a fantastic and dangerous place. There were a number of nations within the Midlands, most who have a king or queen that was the master of the domain. Other lands were ruled in different manners, such as by councils. Some were places of magic creatures, such as the night wisps. No humans lived in these lands.

The Midlands never had close relations with D'Hara. It was a distant and secretive land that they knew almost nothing about until the war with Panis Rahl. After the second D'Haran War, when Richard Rahl became the Lord Rahl, the Midlands and D'Hara fused into an alliance that later became known as the D'Haran Empire.

Westland

Westland is one of three lands that makes up the New World. Like its name suggests, Westland is the west-most land in the New World. When the boundaries were raised, Westland became a land without magic. Also in Westland the status of a woman could not be seen at her hair-length like in the Midlands.

Westland was governed by a First Councilor who was in responsible for all towns and villages in Westland. He also his the leader of Westlands army. The First Councilor was selected by all councilors from Westland. The First councilor hat also a personal home guard for his own protection. The last known First Councilor was Michael Cypher the step-brother of Richard Rahl.

Richard Rahl grew up in Westland. When Richard finds out he must find a way across the boundary, he figures out that there's a way to cross the boundary without going through the underworld. He realizes this when he learns that nothing magical was in Westland when the boundary went up. Since the Book of Counted Shadows was there, and was magical, he knew his father had found a way to cross to be able to bring it back. This path was known as King's Port.

The Old World

The Old World is the southern most land of the great barrier that separated the Old and New Worlds for three thousand years, before it was brought down by Richard Rahl.
It has been revealed that the Old World is many times the size of the New World and that this is a major contributor to the superior numbers of the army of the Imperial Order, when compared to the forces of the D'Haran Empire.

The Rang'Shada Mountains

The Rang'Shada Mountains was a vast spine of rock that ran northeast across the "back" of the Midlands - from the northeast corner down the center of the Midlands, leveling off as it reached the Wilds in the south. The name was a conjunction of two words from the old tongue of Emperor Jagang's homeland, Altur'Rang. The word Rang translated loosely as "The Chosen" and Shada was the word for an armored war gauntlet with spikes. Rang'Shada translated roughly as "War Fist of the Chosen". Cradled within the mountains was the remote place known as Agaden Reach, home of the Witch woman, Shota.
